<p>Wannes Vandenbussche is assistant research professor of civil procedure (BOF ZAP, tenure track).<br>Wannes studied law at KU Leuven and at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Erasmus exchange). In July 2012, he obtained his Research Master in Laws, jointly organized by KU Leuven and Tilburg University. In May 2017, he defended his PhD thesis, “Evidentiary deficiency in tort law”, which was awarded with the Triennial Prize for Civil Procedure (2015-2016-2017). Subsequently, he carried out postdoctoral research on the role of apologies in civil procedure as a visiting research scholar at Yale Law School (B.A.E.F. and Fulbright fellow).</p> <p>Wannes is also an attorney-at-law at the Brussels bar, focusing on commercial, (extra-) contractual and financial disputes. He is an accredited mediator in civil and commercial matters.</p> <p>Wannes is a board member of “Tijdschrift voor Procesrecht en Bewijsrecht”, “Rechtskundig Weekblad”, “Nieuw Juridisch Weekblad” and “Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Burgerlijk Recht”. He is the chief editor of the volumes on civil procedure of the International Encyclopaedia of Laws. He is the author, co-author and editor of several articles and books in the field of evidence, civil procedure, torts, contracts and ADR. He was a member of the commission for the reform of the Belgian rules of evidence.</p>
